Botanical Tag for Rubber Dance

Been playing with my Inktense Pencils and Antique Botanicals stamps for this week's Rubber Dance DT make. I went for a simple tag that's very flowery indeed!

My background is stencilled with a woodgrain effect then layered over with a trellis die cut. I then simply coloured, cut and layered the various flower and butterfly images. I used PinFlair glue to give the blooms a bit of oomph.

I'm getting grips with my Inktense Pencils now and I really love the vibrancy and how well they blend. I've discovered the type of card used can make a big difference to the end result too. They don't really like coated card much. I used a waterbrush for my blending - super quick and easy - I coloured this lot while I sat in front of the TV! :)

Hope you like my little hint of spring!

Tim's Tags February

Well, I promised myself I'd do all of Tim's tags this year and so far, two for two!

I changed Tim's design a bit but used the same background technique - loved the use of the Black Soot Distress Pen. Awesome!

I used a mix of ephemera and Tim's patterned papers for my background and added an Eiffel Tower (cos Paris is the city of lurve) and some stamping using Rubber Dance stamps (Forever word and heart).

Am entering my tag for the My Vintage Journey Tic Tac Toe challenge - I've used Idea-ology, twine, die cuts and Texture Fades for my piece.

Roll on March!

Take Note!

I can be a tad forgetful at times (could be my age or perhaps the sign of a creative mind!) so anything that helps me keep my affairs in order has to be a good thing!

So for this week's Rubber Dance DT make I've created a fridge magnet noteholder from a peg and a piece of chipboard.

The background is decoupaged with book paper, painted over with silver paint which I partially removed with a baby wipe to give it a worn look. I stamped over the background with the Vintage Script stamp in black Archival (dry this with a heat gun as you are using it on paint).

The peg was a blackboard one from Papermania and I also treated this with a wash of silver paint. My die cut letters are touched very lightly around the edges with the same paint using my finger.

Finally the main event - my lovely pen nib. This is also a Rubber Dance stamp, stamped onto a sheet of craft metal in black (use Archival heat set, or StazOn) and then bent around a paintbrush. It's secured in place with silicone glue to help it retain some shape.

Quite simple but I am rather pleased with this little piece - pretty and also very practical!

Thanks for popping in :)

Love in the Air!

Sorry I've been awol for a bit - lots going on, won't bore you with details. Anyway, it's time for another Rubber Dance Colour Challenge! This month's (optional) theme is LOVE - the theme is totally open to interpretation but I went quite traditional with this altered heart. All the challenge details can be found over on the RD Blog,

My background is stamped with the RD lace background in red (quite subtle) and then around the edges with a flourish (from RD For the Birds set). I then added a layer of Mod Podge, sprinkled it with the heart confetti and then secured the confetti with a top coat of Mod Podge.

I've also really been enjoying the Frilly and Funkie challenges and this month the theme is Valen-twine. Twine was a perfect finishing touch alongside the rough corrugated card of course to create a hanger for the heart.

My final challenge entry is We Do Doobadoo - theme Romance.

Thanks for popping over :).

Love,
Me x
